Is it legal for a landlord, who is also your family member, to evict you because you have a disability.?
Being a family member does not protect you in a landlord/tenant relationship. Having a recognized disability does protect you from being evicted for that reason. In United States Federal anti-discrimination law, a protected class is a characteristic of a person which protects from targeted for discrimination. Disability is one such characteristic prohibiting others from targeting an individual. Race, color, religion and other characterisitcs fall under the anti-discrimination law.
